Pasta in Rome, Macarons in Paris & a 10-Second Favor

A quick ask this morning. You've probably heard that small creators like Kids Are A Trip and Groups Are A Trip have taken a beating the past year and a half as Google rewards publications with big ad budgets, and AI-generated content has flooded search results.

I've always relied on first-person stories and personal recommendations, which has been a huge part of what sustains me. But I have a small ask that could make a real difference: setting Kids Are A Trip and Groups Are A Trip as one of your preferred sources on Google.

It's simple - just click this direct link, find Kids Are a Trip, and tick the box. Do the same thing with Groups Are a Trip using this link. When you do, Google prioritizes content from sites you trust over paid ads and AI nonsense. Ten seconds of your time, and it truly helps more than you know. Thank you! Now on to this week’s newsletter.

Last year, we shared our favorite food tours and experiences and this audience loved it! So I’m sharing some of our favorite food experiences we’ve had in the past year and some of the classes we have booked for 2026. We know that sharing a meal, tasting something new, or learning a recipe side by side creates memories that last far longer than souvenirs.

Here are some amazing foodie experiences perfect for families, friends, and multigenerational groups.

Family-Friendly Food Adventures

These experiences are interactive, approachable, and great for introducing kids (and adults!) to local culture through food:

Prague Food Tour – Discover Czech comfort food together, from sandwiches and sausage to delightful desserts. Tastings in multiple restaurants make for a delicious evening dinner.

Cusco Peruvian Cooking Class – Cook traditional Peruvian dishes using local ingredients sourced from a nearby market. This hands-on class was a highlight of our stay in Cusco.

🧑‍🍳 Paris Macaron-Making Class – Learn how to create delicate, colorful macarons from scratch with a professional pastry chef. This class is family-friendly, hands-on, and a sweet way to experience Paris beyond sightseeing.

Savoring Local Flavors with Friends & Family

Perfect for trips with friends, teens, or grandparents, these foodie experiences blend culture, storytelling, and unforgettable flavors:

🍝 Florence Progressive Dinner Crawl – Walk through historic squares, taste Tuscan specialties, and enjoy classic Italian dishes like fresh pasta, cured meats, and gelato. I did this as a solo traveler and it was one of the highlights of my Florence trip!

Puerto Rico Old San Juan Food Tour – From mofongo to ceviche, this tour dives into one of the world’s most exciting food scenes. Great for groups who love bold flavors and casual dining experiences. Come hungry!

Rome Hands On Pasta Making and Market Private Tour – This was recommended by one of the couples on my Florence tour and they said it was one of their favorite experiences. Shop for ingredients at the local market, then learn how to make gnocchi and sauce with your private chef. Great idea for families!

Istanbul Culinary Tour – Sample Turkish favorites while wandering lively local neighborhoods. This is a fantastic way for families to experience Istanbul’s energy without sitting through a long formal meal.

🍴 Plan Your Next Culinary Getaway

No matter where you travel, food has a way of bringing everyone to the table, literally. Whether you’re tasting street food, shopping local markets, or cooking alongside locals, these culinary experiences turn trips into shared stories.

Have a favorite food tour or cooking class you’ve tried? Hit reply and tell us, we’re always looking for new delicious experiences to add to our list.

Happy (and delicious) travels,

Kirsten
