Packing Like a Pro: Spring Break Essentials for Families

Spring Break is almost here! Whether you're heading to the beach, the mountains, or a city adventure with kids, teens, or young adults, packing smart makes all the difference.

After years of traveling with my boys, I’ve learned you don’t need to pack everything - just the right things. And don’t be afraid to let them pack their own bags. Create a list and let them do the work. Here’s a streamlined checklist you can print and check off as you go.

Beach Getaway Essentials

Perfect for destinations like Aruba, Maui, or Puerto Rico:

Reef-safe sunscreen

Two swimsuits per person (one will always be wet)

Insulated refillable water bottle

Packable beach bag or backpack

Pro Tip: Always pack one extra outfit in your carry-on, especially for younger kids.

Ski Trip Must-Haves

Headed to the slopes? Focus on warmth and layers.

Ski/snowboard helmet with goggles

Merino wool ski socks

Waterproof ski gloves (not a bad idea to bring an extra pair in case one gets lost)

Pro Tip: Toss protein bars in jacket pockets for everyone. Lift lines feel longer when they’re hungry.

City Adventure Packing List

Exploring cities like Nashville, London, or Paris? Comfort is everything.

Comfortable walking shoes (broken in!)

Anti-theft crossbody or backpack

Portable charger and universal travel adapter

○ Lightweight layers (packable jacket or cardigan)

Pro Tip: Let teens carry their own small daypack. It builds independence and saves your shoulders.

Packing doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Keep it simple, pack intentionally, and you’ll start your Spring Break feeling organized instead of stressed.

Where are you headed this year? The beach, slopes, or city? Hit reply and tell me!

Happy Travels,
Kirsten ✈️

Where to Travel When the World Feels Like a Mess (Because It Kind of Is)

Let’s be honest, lately, the world feels…a little chaotic. Between the headlines, the stress, and the constant noise, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. While we can’t fix everything, we can choose where we go and how we spend our time. Travel won’t solve the world’s problems, but it can give you space to breathe, reconnect, and remember what’s good. If you’re craving a reset (and honestly, who isn’t?), here are the kinds of places worth putting on your radar right now. Go Where Nature Does the...

Unforgettable Summer Trips for People Who Are Over the Usual Tourist Traps

This year, we’re leaning into bucket list adventures that feel a little more unique. We’re thinking about the kind of trips that bring your group together, spark curiosity, and create stories you’ll be talking about for years. Speaking of unique, I just returned from a week long barge cruise through Burgundy, France with my sister. I cannot say enough good things about...
